Fact Check-

First, we looked at the history of Coca-Cola on their website. We found that Coca-Cola was launched on May 8, 1886 by Dr. John Pemberton at Jacobs’ Pharmacy in Atlanta, US as a refreshment drink. In 2021, Coca Cola Japan released a brief about the history of the company on the occasion of its 135th anniversary.

Since Coca-Cola was launched in 1886, they celebrated their 138th anniversary, not their 84th anniversary as claimed in the viral post.

Three months ago, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages posted on LinkedIn about the celebration of the 138th anniversary in Bengaluru, India.

Coca-Cola also clarified that hoax emails and text messages are in circulation about various promotions by the company. These are all scams with an intention to extract financial and other personal information from people.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The social media post claiming that Coca-Cola is giving away free Samsung phones to its consumers is a scam.
