Amidst this, a post went viral on social media with a claim that the South African cricketer David Miller is retiring from the international Twenty20 cricket field.

We started our investigation by running a relevant keyword and reverse image search on Google and we found that David Miller took to his Instagram story to flag certain reports regarding him calling off time on his T20I career. He shared the story last day on his Instagram page and kept it highlighted under the collection ‘Cricket’. He clarified that, “Contrary to some reports, I have not retired from T20 international cricket. I will continue to be available to play for the proteas, the best is yet to come”

Earlier, Miller expressed his disappointment following the team’s defeat against India in the ICC T20 World Cup final. He wrote on his Instagram story that “I am gutted!! Really tough pill to swallow after what transpired 2 days ago. Words don’t explain how I am feeling. One thing I do know is how proud I am of this unit. This journey was an incredible one, with highs and lows throughout the entire month. We have endured pain, but I know this team has the resilience and will keep raising the bar,” may be this led to speculation that he had announced his retirement from T20Is.

In parallel, we also received several news reports in this regard, referring to Miller’s clarification of his retirement.
