Fact Check-

By conducting a keyword and reverse image search on Google, we found that the video was originally uploaded by a verified Instagram page called SanskritSparrow on 6 June, 2024. The caption shared with the video, which was last edited on 8 June, states, “The above content is a dubbed voice-over. This was not announced at any flight. This does not have anything to do with @akasaair management.” Samashti Gabbi, a Sanskrit scholar from Karnataka, runs this Instagram account, through the account she promotes the ancient language by vlogging and podcasting in Sanskrit.

For further clarification, we contacted Samashti Gubbi on Instagram. She confirmed that, “The video in reel is captured by me randomly while I was in Akasa Air flight. Then I did a dubbed voice over of announcements in Sanskrit. This is my voice. This was not a collaboration with Akasa Air or any flight services. This was an independent content”.

Moving forward, we also came across a tweet by the official account of Akasa Air dated 13 June.  Replying to one of the tweets claiming that it was an original announcement, Akasa Air wrote, “We would like to clarify that our inflight announcements are delivered in Hindi and English. The announcement in the video is not an official one and seems to be a dubbed video that has been shared”.
