Is the lady in the video Kajal Shingala, an IPS officer from Gujarat warning people about love jihad? Know the truth.

Currently, a video of a lady warning people about love jihad is going viral on social media. In the video, she was explaining how Muslim people lure Hindu girls in their love and then marry them to blackmail and divorce them later. She also elaborated how Hindu girls suffer and become victims of these men. She claimed to rescue many such girls herself.

Against this backdrop, social media users are claiming that the lady in the video is an IPS officer from Gujarat and she is warning Hindu girls about love jihad. 

Sharing this video a user wrote, “This is Gujarat’s IPS woman officer Kajal Shingala and she is warning girls by exposing the reality of love jihad. I want to warn the people of Hindu religion. Send this video immediately to the girls of your family. Whether they are studying or working in any city.”

Fact Check- 

A Google Reverse Image Search led us to the same video uploaded on Kajal Shingala’s official Instagram account on 24 June 2021. After watching the video carefully, we found that the woman speaking in the video is Kajal Singala. Below you can see the video.

Who is Kajal Shingala?

In 2023, DNA India reported that Kajal Shingala, who is a right wing activist was arrested by Gujarat police for giving a proactive speech on the occasion of Ram Navami leading to communal clashes in April 2023. She was also seen in the events organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). 

We searched for Kajal’s Twitter account and found that she mentioned herself as an entrepreneur, research analyst, social worker and nationalist Indian. 

Apart from this we searched for the list of IPS officers appointed in Gujarat. We went through the lists and found no one in the name of Kajal Shingala had been recruited as an IPS officer in the state. You can see the list of the IPS officers here and here. 

Conclusion: 

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be misleading. The lady in the video is Kajal Shingala aka Kajal Hindustani who is a right wing activist and social worker and not an IPS officer.
