McDonald’s Puts Rumors to Rest- Burgers Are Not Made With Human Flesh. VIral Claim Is False.

An international brand has again come into the limelight after social media users are posting against it. We are talking about the famous brand McDonalds. An old message resurfaced again on social media claiming that McDonalds is serving human meats in its burgers.

A social media user wrote that McDonald’s meats were tested in a lab and human DNAs were found in it multiple times. McDonalds is feeding human meats to its customers. Additionally, it says that the fries of the McDonalds are soaked in the pesticides before shipping them to various locations. 

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. McDonalds burgers do not have human meats in them.

A tweet mentioned that McDonald is the largest distributor of human meat in the world. A factory in Oklahoma was caught with body parts of a child. 90% of the factories process human meat.

Fact Check – 

A relevant keyword search led us to an archive version of a website called Huzlers in which an article about McDonalds serving human meat to customers was published in 2014. In this article, it was pointed out that McDonalds initially used horse meat, then they switched to some mysterious pink slimy thing and now they are using human meat in their meat products. It even said that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) had seized McDonalds production and shipping. 

After this we searched for reports about USDA seizing McDonald’s products and restaurants. But we did not find any such reports. Instead, we found a report by ABC News from 2012 which said that McDonalds stopped buying meat from California meat supplier after the federal agencies temporarily shut down the plant after evidence of inhumane treatment of livestock were found. 

We also found that the report of McDonalds serving human meats in its burgers was published on Huzler website which is known for its satire contents. You can see the archived version of the website here. The Huzler website had changed its About Us page . 

We also searched Huzlers Facebook account and noticed irregular content posting. The last content published in its website was on 21 October 2016. 

We found a tweet from McDonald’s from 2014 where they mentioned that the restaurant only uses chicken and beef. The tweet reads, “No human meat, that’s gross! We only use real chicken and 100% USDA-inspected beef!”

We also found a clarification by McDonald’s on its website saying, “Hi. We do not have human meat in our burgers. We would like to assure you that we only use 100% pure, Halal beef and chicken in our food. That’s it! We source our beef from BRF in Abu Dhabi and chicken from McFood in Malaysia who abide by our strict quality, safety and Halal standards.”

Conclusion: 

Fact Crescendo found that the message about human meats found in McDonald’s burgers is fake. This false news was first published in a satire website after which people thought it to be true. McDonalds clarified that they use only chicken and beef in their products.
