However, as we investigated, we came to know that the video is neither related to Rahul Gandhi’s nomination from Raebareli not it is from Ayodhya. Here’s the fact that.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword search and as a result, we came across a Facebook post where the viral video was uploaded. The video was uploaded on 5th February 2024. The caption of the video read, “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of former Congress President and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has entered Jharkhand. Rahul Gandhi reached Deoghar on Saturday. He went to Baba Baidyanath Dham and offered prayers and also performed Rudrabhishek. However, while leaving the temple premises, there was an uproar when some people started raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Modi-Modi in front of him.”

Moving forward, we have found a video report by ANI. The report was published on their official YouTube channel on 3 February 2024. The caption of the video reads, “Crowd raises ‘Modi, Modi’ chants as Rahul Gandhi visits Baba Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand”. In the video, the viral video could be seen from a different direction. The description of the video read, “Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra reached Jharkhand on February 02. Dressed in a Pink Dhoti and Sandalwood powdered forehead, Rahul Gandhi offered prayers at Baba Baidyanath Dham on Feb 03.  As soon as Rahul Gandhi entered the famous jyotirlinga in Jharkhand’s Deoghar, loud sloganeering began.  The public in large numbers raised ‘Rahul Gandhi Zindabad’ slogans, but suddenly turned into ‘Modi-Modi’ chants. Notably, the 66-day-long Yatra started on Jan 14 from Imphal and will conclude on March 20 in Mumbai.

The Times Of India published a report on the incident on 3 April 2024.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the viral video is shared with missing context. The video shows Rahul Gandhi visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham in Jharkhand during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. This is not from Ayodhya and has no link with his nomination filing from Raebareli.
