The same video was shared here too. Archived Link.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that although the visuals are from Kashmir, these are not recent. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots of the viral video. After conducting the reverse image search of the screenshots, we came across a video on YouTube which was uploaded on 5 September 2014.  From the timestamp 0:05, the viral video can be seen. The caption of the video read, “Pires inondations depuis 22 ans au Cachemire”. The caption was in French. After translating the caption with Google Translate, we got to know the meaning of the caption. This means, “Worst floods in 22 years in Kashmir”.

In the description of the video, it was written as, “SRINAGAR – September 4, 2014 – These are the worst floods in Kashmir in 22 years. In this region of northern India, torrential rains have already caused the death of 14 people. The victims drowned, carried away by the waves of water or were submerged by mudslides. The floods have already affected around a hundred villages in the region. Trains have been blocked and many schools are closed. Several thousand people had to evacuate their homes to take refuge in less dangerous areas.”

Using this clue, we conducted a keyword search and found a video on the YouTube channel AP Archive. The visuals of this video are the same as that of the viral video. According to the description of the video, the visuals are from 4 September 2014. At least 14 people died in Kashmir after heavy rains and worst floods in 22 years hit the area.

Moving forward, we have found a report on the floods in Kashmir in the year 2014. The report contains a screenshot of the viral video.
