We started our investigation by conducting a keyword search on X and found a tweet from ANI. The tweet reads, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweets, “First phase, great response! Thank you to all those who have voted today. Getting EXCELLENT feedback from today’s voting. It’s clear that people across India are voting for NDA in record numbers.”

Moving forward we went through the official X handle of PM Narendra Modi and found a tweet from 19 April ,2024 where he wrote, “First phase, great response! Thank you to all those who have voted today. 

Getting EXCELLENT feedback from today’s voting. It’s clear that people across India are voting for NDA in record numbers.”

Comparing the viral screenshot and PM Modi’s tweet, we noticed that the word NDA has been replaced with INDIA in the viral screenshot. The comparison between the two can be seen below.

Conclusion 

From our investigation we can say that the viral screenshot has been altered. PM Modi did not tweet that people across India are voting for INDIA in record numbers. Instead, he wrote that people across India are voting for NDA in record numbers. The word NDA has been replaced with INDIA in the viral screenshot.
