This video is not recent; it shows Bharat Jodo Yatra in Dausa, Rajasthan in December 2022.
As the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi currently reached in Maharashtra and there was a rally in Nashik on March14, which included Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders. The objective of the rally aimed at addressing the problems faced by common citizens. Amidst this, a video showing a huge crowd flooding a street is being widely shared on social media with a claim “Craze of Rahul Gandhi ji in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nashik.” This video was shared by the Indian National Congress Jammu and Kashmir Facebook handle.
Fact Check-
We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search and the results led us to the same video uploaded to Rajasthan’s Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s Twitter account on 16 December, 2022. The caption states, “As the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Dausa on its 100th day, the response and participation of the people was overwhelming.” Dausa is a city in Rajasthan. So it is evident that the video is not recent and not related to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Upon further search, we found the same video was uploaded on Congress’s Twitter handle also on 16 December, 2022.
We searched for news reports related to the event and found several reports published in December 2022. Navbharat Times video report contained screengrabs from the viral video. As per the report, the Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Dausa in Rajasthan on its 100th day and a huge crowd gave a grand welcome to Rahul Gandhi.
Next, we checked for videos related to Rahul Gandhi’s recent Nashik rally held on 14 March during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. We found a live stream on his official YouTube account, and a large numbers of people were there. But we could not find any matching frames with the viral video.
Conclusion-
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This video is not recent; it shows Bharat Jodo Yatra in Dausa, Rajasthan in December 2022.
