Viral video of a castle cake is not from Ambani’s pre-wedding event

The viral video is old it is unrelated to the recent pre-wedding celebrations of the Anant Ambani. It has been available online since October 2023.

The whole nation and the world witnessed the year’s biggest event, with celebrities from all walks of life flocked to Jamnagar in Gujarat to attend billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash recently. 

Following the event, many videos and images from the massive event were widely shared on social media. Top chefs created an extensive menu with over 2,500 items for the event. Amidst this, a video of a gigantic castle cake has gone viral with the claim this cake too was part of the pre wedding bash.Users who shared the post claim that it showed the world’s biggest wedding cake from the celebrations.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by running a reverse image search on Google, whose results led us to an Instagram post featuring the same video uploaded by the UNILAD (Media Company) on 23 October 2023 with the description “Looks like something from Hogwarts.” 

So the viral video predates Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. It has been available on internet from last year.

In further search we found a report published by the News 18 on 31 October 2023 featuring the image of the same cake. As per the report, “At a recent wedding, one couple took extravagance to the next level with a colossal Hogwarts Castle-themed cake. This remarkable creation was a true showstopper. The cake was designed to replicate the iconic castle from J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Positioned on an elaborate platform, the cake was unveiled to all the guests. Every detail, from miniature turrets to the famous Hogwarts castle itself, was intricately recreated in this visually stunning masterpiece”.

Taking account of these evidences we can understand that the viral video predates Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations.
