A video of Rahul Gandhi saying dead people are being treated in Madhya Pradesh is going viral on social media. Users are sharing this video mocking Rahul Gandhi for his statement. 

However, Fact Crescendo found that the video was shared without proper context. Only a small portion of the real video was shared to defame Rahul Gandhi.

Fact Check- 

A relevant keyword search led us to a video uploaded on Indian National Congress’ official YouTube channel on 10 October 2023. The caption of the video reads, “Dead people are getting treatment- Rahul Gandhi criticized BJP-RSS prior to Madhya Pradesh election”

In the video Rahul Gandhi can be heard saying, “Advaniji wrote in his book that RSS and BJP’s real laboratory or factory is not in Gujarat, it is in Madhya Pradesh. These are his words. So when i was preparing this speech, i thought as Advaniji had said that Madhya Pradesh is his laboratory, so let’s see what they are doing in RSS and BJP’s laboratory. I want to give you a few examples. Dead people are getting treatments in BJP’s laboratory and they loot their money. Dead people don’t receive medical treatment in any other state of the country. It only happens in Madhya Pradesh and they are being looted.”

Hindustan Times reported that Rahul Gandhi targeted BJP in his speech prior to Madhya Pradesh elections in October last year. Addressing the crowd in Shahdol, he said that L.K.Advani had mentioned Madhya Pradesh as BJP’s laboratory in his book and in the state they are giving medical treatment to dead people and are stealing their money. He also criticized the government for the Vyapam scheme which covers the illiteracy and unemployment of the young people.
