Is this a video of a recent explosion in a perfume factory in Himachal Pradesh? Know the truth.

Recently, a perfume factory in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh caught fire which led to an explosion. Few people were reported to be dead while several others were found to be severely injured. 

Against this backdrop, a video of an explosion in a factory is going viral on social media. It can be seen that a fire broke out in the factory and free seconds later there were multiple explosions. Users are claiming that this video is of recent explosion in the perfume factory in Himachal Pradesh. 

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be misleading. This is an old video of an explosion in a chemical factory in China and not of Himachal Pradesh incident.

Fact Check- 

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the Mirror News website. An image of the same factory during the time of explosion was published on 26 November 2015. According to the report, this is an incident of an explosion in a chemical plant in Zhejiang province in China. Initially a fire broke out in the plant. The fire hoses tried to douse the fire but the attempt failed and multiple explosions in the plant took place. 

The same video was found to be uploaded on another website on 17 November 2015 saying that this is a video of a chemical plant explosion in China. 

From the above facts it is clear that the viral video is many years old and from China. This video has no connection with perfume factory explosion in Himachal Pradesh, 

According to the Hindustan Times report, there was an explosion at a perfume factory in Solan village in Himachal Pradesh. There were 85 people in the factory. Five people died, 29 were in jured and 47 people were rescued. The court had issued non-bailable warrants against the owner and his brothers who were residents of Ratlam city in Madhya Pradesh.  

Conclusion: 

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be misleading. The viral video is a visual of an explosion of a chemical factory in CHina in 2015. This video has no connection with recent explosion in a perfume factory in Himachal Pradesh
