Fact Check-

By conducting a reverse image search on one of the video’s key frames, the results led us to similar videos of the activity shared on several YouTube channels. According to the descriptions of these videos, they showed the Cycle Plank Balance competition held in Kapilvastu, Nepal. As per the description, the competition was organised by the Lions Club of Kapilvastu at Rajapani in Nepal and won by Manik Shrestha.

The description states “2nd CYCLE PLANK BALANCE Manik Shrestha has won the title of the second edition of cycle plank balance (a game played by making a track on water) competition. In the competition organized by the Lions Club of Kapilvastu at Rajapani, a tourist spot located in Banganga Municipality 3, he managed to win the title after taking 1 tenth and 56 seconds to cross the 52-meter track”.

In further search, we found media reports from Nepal regarding this competition. As per reports, 11-year-old Manik Shrestha from Butwal, a city in Nepal, won the second edition of the Cycle Plank Balance competition held at Rajapani on the occasion of Vijayadashami. A rule was made that whoever crossed the track late would be the winner. Shrestha won the competition by artistically stopping his bicycle for 50 seconds while crossing the track.

Meanwhile, we checked for the eligibility criteria for the position of postmaster on the official website of the India Post. This requires a minimum qualification of Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English. Also Knowledge of computers, and cycling, among other things, and the selection process usually involves a written examination, followed by a personal interview or document verification.

Taking account of these evidences, we can clearly say that a cycle race video from Nepal falsely shared as postmaster recruitment process in India.
