False

Is this a video of collection of first day donations of Ayodhya Ram Mandir? Know the truth.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha was held on 22 January. More than 5 lakhs devotees including VVIPs attended the ceremony. Against this backdrop, a video of a few people collecting money from a donation box is going viral. Social media users are claiming that this video is of the first day collection of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is a video from Sanwaliya Seth Ji temple situated in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.

What’s the claim?

Sharing the video, social media users are claiming that the video of a few people collecting donations from a box in a temple is the first day collection from Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Fact Check-

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 19 January 2024. As per the information, this video is from Shree Sanwaliya Sethji Temple situated in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The Caption of the video reads, “This time it is a record as cash of 12.69 crore rupees was collected”

As this video is already available on the internet before the Pran Pratishtha of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, therefore it is not possible that this collection of donation money will be of Ram Mandir.

A relevant keyword search led us to another video uploaded on a website on 22 November 2022 saying that Rajasthan’s Sanwariya Seth temple received above 11.37 crore rupees cash and gold from the donation box.

A report of News 18 from 2019 also published an image of the Shree Sanwariya Seth Temple in which a woman can be seen giving donations.

A close look at the above image and the viral video, we saw few similarities between them. We found that the pillars of the temple and the golden color designs on it are the same. Below you can see the comparison.

Fact Crescendo contacted Mr. Nand Kishore, administrator of Sanwaliya Seth Temple Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He told us that the viral video is from their temple and not from Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The temple opens the donation box twice a month. On the occasion of Pran Pratishtha, Sanwaliya Seth temple sent prasad to Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The viral video is from Sanwaliya Seth Temple situated in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This is not a video of collection of donations in Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
