Video from South Korea’s resort falsely shared as visuals of a Chinese mall.

The video shows a digital entertainment street named Aurora at Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort in South Korea.

A video of a gorgeous roof with LED displays is being shared on social media, with the claims that it shows a mall in China. The caption of the viral video reads, “A Mall in China, people visit there to see the roof”

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by breaking the video into key frames using the InVid tool and ran a Google reverse image search on the same. The results led us to the same video on a post on Welele.es. This post mentioned the location as Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort, South Korea.

Keeping this in mind, we conducted relevant keyword search and the results led us to the website of the Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort in Korea which contained visuals that matched the viral video. This is South Korea’s newest entertainment resort opened in November 2023. The first phase of opening included three hotel towers with 1,275 rooms, a multi-purpose arena, including the largest ballroom in Korea, its signature restaurants and Aurora, state-of-the-art digital entertainment street. Aurora is a 150-meter-long digital entertainment street that offers an immersive experience through its giant LED screens and stunning media art content.

The visuals seen in the viral video is a place within this resort known as Aurora Entertainment Street. According to the website, “Aurora is an immersive entertainment street enveloped by a 150-meter LED display adorning the high ceilings and walls, presenting surreal imagery. The high-resolution LED and pillar LEDs, reaching skyward, unveil captivating digital content that immerses you in otherworldly realms. As you stroll through this indoor environment, you’ll feel as if you’re meandering amid tall grasses in a mystical forest beneath a boundless blue sky, or perhaps, you’ll find yourself submerged in the depths of a cerulean sea.”

Meanwhile we checked the details of the malls of China and we found that Suzhou Harmony Times Square has a gorgeous high-tech sky screen that attracts a large number of visitors every day, but this video shows Aurora, state-of-the-art digital entertainment street.
