Did Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi make anti-Muslim statements in the context of Ram Temple? Know the truth.

Currently, an image of a newspaper clip is going viral on social media. There are controversial statements about Ram Temple and Muslim people along with the photos of Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi in the clip. 

It was mentioned that Amit Shah had said to have declared that the Ram temple could never be built. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi had been quoted saying that to win the trust of Hindus it was necessary to kill all Muslims.

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old morphed newspaper clip. 

What’s the claim? 

Sharing the image of the newspaper clip, social media users are claiming that in the past Home Minister Amit Shah himself said that Ram Mandir will never be constructed and PM Modi was quoted saying that to gain the trust of the Hindus, it was must need to kill Muslim farmers.

Fact Check- 

A relevant keyword search led us to a tweet from 2018. In the tweet another newspaper clip image was provided. Here, Mulayam Singh was quoted saying that to gain the trust of Muslims, it was necessary to attack the Hindus. It was also mentioned that the viral newspaper clip is a fake one that was spread by Congress.

We also found a report by Navbharat Times on 27 August 2016. According to the report, Mulayam Singh had said that to maintain unity in the country he had to attack Karsevaks in Ayodhya. According to him, if the attack on Karsevaks had not been done at that time, the Muslims would have lost their trust in the country. 

We also came across another tweet in which the same viral quotes of the newspaper clips were attributed to Mulayam Singh.

After this, we made a comparison between the viral newspaper clip and the newspaper clip obtained from Twitter. We found that only the headlines and the images of the newspaper clip were tampered. 

Conclusion: 

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is a morphed newspaper clip with PM Modi and Amit Shah making anti-Muslim statements and against the construction of the Ram Mandir.
