The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to be inaugurated on 24 January, 2024. The construction activities at the temple are in full swing to make it ready before the inauguration. In this context, an image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi sitting with workers and eating food is going viral. While sharing the image on social media, users claim that PM Modi is having food with the workers building the Ram temple.
The caption of the post states that “A king had cut the hands of the laborers who built the Taj Mahal….And a king is eating with the laborers building Ram temple. The difference is clear..Hail to the truth Sanatan religion”

We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search, whose result led us to the Facebook post by Prasar Bharati News Services. The same viral image was uploaded by Prasar Bharati News Service on their official Facebook account on 13December, 2021. The caption states that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lunch with the workers involved in the construction work of Kashi Vishwanath Dham.

According to the media report of 13 December, 2021, PM Narendra Modi had reached Varanasi, where he inaugurated the Vishwanath Corridor Dham. After the inauguration, PM Modi also had food with the workers who gave shape to the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. This picture taken during this time went viral on social media.

CNN-News18 also broadcasted the event with photos and information on 13 December, 2021.

The viral image is not recent; it is from 2021 and shows PM Modi having lunch with construction workers of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project. It has no link to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya
