A shocking incident happened in the Parliament on 13 December wherein two people jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, released yellow gas from canisters, and shouted slogans before being overpowered by the MPs. They were identified as Lucknow resident Sagar Sharma and Mysuru resident D. Manoranjan .According to the police, the Parliament security breach was well-coordinated and meticulously planned allegedly by six people, five of whom have been nabbed. A case under anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was registered against all of them. The matter is being investigated by anti-terror unit special cell. Against this backdrop, an image of a man speaking on the dais holding a mike is being shared with a claim that it shows the co-accused in the Parliament security breach named Manoranjan, who allegedly works with the Students’ Federation of India. Fact Check-

By conducting a keyword search on Google we found a post by SFI Karnataka that refuted the viral claim stating that the man in the image is their Mysuru district president TS Vijay Kumar and not Manoranjan as being claimed.

The post was uploaded on 14 December and it mentioned that several people have dragged the name of SFI Mysore (Mysuru) district president Vijay Kumar in the case. They also demanded appropriate action against those who were spreading fake news.

Next, we contacted Amaresh Kadagada, SFI Karnataka president who denied the viral claim and clarified us that “This is false, the photo is of Vijay Kumar, our Mysuru district president and Manoranjan who is the accused in the case is also not a part of SFI.”

Then we reached out to Vijay Kumar, He confirmed that it was him who can be seen in the image. He added, “I am the president of SFI from Mysore district and also an advocate. The BJP IT cell is trying to spread fake news. I have registered a complaint against those spreading fake news.” He said that the viral image was taken on 8September 2022, during a SFI conference at Mysore.

We checked SFI Mysore’s Facebook page and we found the image in a post dated 8 September, 2022.

SFI Karnataka uploaded a photo of Vijay Kumar outside the Cyber crime police station in Mysuru and another photo of the complaint also.

Media outlets have reported on Manoranjan with his photograph.
