After the recent Madhya Pradesh election result, Mohan Yadav was appointed as the new Chief Minister of the state. He took his oath on 13 December and held a press conference right after the ceremony.
Against this backdrop, a video of a person is going viral on social media. The person can be heard warning the Muslims against the pro-Pakistan slogans in the country. In the video, the person is saying, “The incident of Ujjain has come to the fore.We already said that there is no objection to offering Namaz, no restriction on fasting. If you want to take out a rally on Muharram, then also we have no objection. But you all need to understand one thing that this is Hindustan and all have to work according to the constitution framed by Baba Shaheb Ambedkar. If the Pakistan Zindabad slogan will be raised in the land of India then you will be crushed and legal actions will be taken. We want to say to Mullahs and Maulvis that you do Namaz and give religious teachings but also tell them that this is India. When this country is Hindustan then should the slogan of Hindustan Zindabad be raised?”
Sharing this video, social media users are claiming that the person in the video is newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav.
However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The person in the video is not Mohan Yadav but Madhya Pradesh’s BJP leader Rameshwar Sharma.
Fact Check-
A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video tweeted by a user in 2021. It was mentioned that the person in the video is Rameshwar Sharma. The tweet reads, “Spot on. MP Minister Shri Rameshwar Sharmaji for his clear message loud and clear to Taliban supporters”
A relevant keyword search on Google led us to a report on the IBC 24 website on 29 November 2022. According to the report, a Pakistan zindabad slogan was raised in Ujjain. Rameshwar Sharma had made his stand clear saying that India will function according to the constitution and pro-Pakistan slogans in the country will not be tolerated.
According to the ETV Bharat report, anti-national slogans were raised in Ujjain on the occasion of Muharram. This led Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma made such a statement to the press. Below you can see the video.
You can also find the comparison between Rameshwar Sharma and Mohan Yadav below.
Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. The person in the viral video is not CM Mohan Yadav but BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma.
