Old video of Israeli settlers attacking a Palestinian woman is shared as a recent incident

The video dates back to March 2019; an old video is being falsely shared as a recent incident of Israelis beating a Palestinian woman

Amid the ongoing Israel- Palestine war, Palestinian Red Crescent says dozens of people killed in Israeli attacks on a house near a hospital in Khan Younis. Health ministry says at least six Palestinians killed and many wounded in Israeli raids across occupied West Bank overnight and this morning. In this scenario, a video of several men beating and assaulting a woman is being shared with a claim that it shows Israelis attacking a Palestinian woman.

The caption of the post states, “ISRAELIS BEAT AND ASSAULT PALESTINIAN WOMAN”.

Fact Check- 

We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a tweet shared on 24 March, 2019 along with the similar video. The caption in Arabic roughly translates, a number of settlers beating a young Palestinian man and his mother #in Hebron

Keeping this in mind, we conducted relevant keyword search and found reports of this incident. According to the WAFA news, Israeli settlers attacked a woman and her son in Tel Romeida neighborhood of the occupied city of Hebron in the south of the West Bank, according to local and Palestinian security forces. The settlers from an illegal settlement outpost in the neighborhood attacked the woman and her son while they were in their home, located near the settlement. The settlers beat the woman and her son and verbally attacked them”.

Tel Romeida is located in the Israeli-army controlled area of Hebron known as H2 and where several hundred fanatic Jewish settlers are concentrated in the midst of several thousand Palestinian residents.

In further search we found the same video was uploaded on an Instagram page named Palestine feed also in 2021. It also mentions the attack of Palestine woman by Israeli settlers.

These evidences confirm that the viral video predates the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. It has no link to the current war.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. An old video of March 2019 is being falsely shared as a recent incident of Israelis beating and attacking a Palestinian woman.
