Is this a video of a Hamas soldier shot down by an Israeli sniper? Know the truth.

Currently, a video of a war is going viral on social media. In the video, a few soldiers can be seen firing bullets. A few seconds later, a soldier can be seen falling down on the ground after being shot in the head. Social media users are claiming that this is a clip of the recent war between Israel and Hamas. 

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video from Iraq and not related to the recent Israel-Palestine war. 

What’s the claim? 

Sharing the video, social media users are claiming that this is a visual of the war between Israel and Hamas in which a Hamas soldier was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper.

The same video was tweeted by a user. The user wrote, “This is what is facing the IDF, they are trying to stand and fight… they are dead now. the guy standing got a bullet in his head on the vid…. as soon as groups like this pop up, the IDF sends in an AH64 to take care of it.”

Fact Check- 

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video uploaded on a website in 2016. Although, the details of the incident were not mentioned, it is clear that this is an old video and not related to the current Israel-Palestine war. 

The same video was posted on Facebook in 2017. 

According to the America Military News report, this was an incident of a fight between Iraq soldiers and ISIS in 2014. In this video, an Iraqi soldier was shot by an ISIS sniper

Another report from 2014 states that this incident took place in 2014 in Fallujah city in Iraq. In this incident, an Iraqi soldier was shot by an ISIS sniper. Another Iraqi soldier was capturing the moment on the battlefield.
