Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a reverse image search on one of the key frames on Google; the results led us to a news report published by to a DNA on 19 February, 2020. The report states, “Since the past few weeks, the Syrian province of Idlib has been the target of continuous bombing and it has claimed many lives. To cope with the fear of constant bombing in the area, a four-year-old Syrian girl’s father has taught her to laugh each time she hears an explosion or warplane”.

In further search we found the same video uploaded by the Guardian News on their YouTube channel on 18 February 2020, with the caption, “Syrian father teaches daughter to cope with bombs through laughter”.

The description part mentions that, “In video posted on social media, Abdullah Mohammad and his daughter Salwa, three, can be heard laughing at the sound of shelling in Syria. Mohammad, who moved his family from Idlib to Sarmada district, has tried to insulate his daughter from trauma by telling her the noise of bombs is part of a game”.

According to the Daily mail report, “A father living in bomb-ravaged western Syria has taught his three-year-old daughter to laugh when she hears a bomb fall. Syrian Abdullah Al-Mohammad, 32, lives in Sarmada, a province of the city of Idlib, with his daughter, Salwa, and wife. In a post on Twitter, the father demonstrated the game which he has devised to protect his daughter from the ‘psychological crisis’ caused by near-constant explosions”.

Considering all this evidence, we can clearly understand that an old video from Syria has been shared, linking to the current Israel-Palestine conflict.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo has found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The little girl laughing at sounds of bombing is from Syria, not Palestine. And it dates back to 2020.
