This video does not show spectators throwing stuffed toys into a football pitch to show their support for Palestinian kids.

The video dates back to February when fans at a match showered the field with thousands of stuffed toys as gifts for the children affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

A video of spectators throwing toys during a football game has gone viral on social media. The players on the pitch are shown picking up these toys and thanking the audience. This video has been shared with the claim that this was done in support of Palestine amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

The caption of the image states,“The Football Ground became a battlefield for the Palestinians Thank you all for taking a stand in favor of Palestine”.

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search, whose result us to an ESPN report published on 28 February. According to the report, the Besiktas fans threw thousands of stuffed toys onto the ground during the match against Antalyaspor, which ended zero-zero. As per reports, Besiktas supporters threw thousands of teddy bears on the field during the match against Antalyaspor to donate to the children affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. 

On February 23, the official YouTube channel of Guardian Football also posted a video depicting this act by fans minutes after the game began. This video can be seen below.

As per Reuters report “Fans at a match between Turkish soccer clubs Besiktas and Antalyaspor showered the field with thousands of teddy bears and stuffed toys as gifts for the children affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria”.

Meanwhile, we looked for any similar incidents that took place at a recent football match in support of Palestine or Israel, but we could not discover anything.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the video to be False. The video dates back to February when fans at a match showered the field with thousands of stuffed toys as gifts for the children affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. It is not recent and not related to the Israel- Hamas conflict.
