Many videos linking Hamas’ attack on Israel are going viral on the internet. In such a situation we have noticed a video of the fight, two women being punched and slapped in the head and thrown to the ground by two men. The users who shared the video link it to the ongoing Israel- Hamas conflict.

The caption of the video states, Women should be hugged, not beaten. Maybe cultural enrichment doesn’t know. #IsraelAttack #Israel #GazaHospitalBombing #GazaAttack

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search, whose result us to the same video posted by an Instagram page of RT news (Russia state-controlled media) on 11September 2023, mentioning that the video is from Seattle in US. The description states “Two women were savagely beaten in broad daylight outside a busy deli in Seattle after allegedly throwing a rock at a man’s car. A video of the fight, which does not show whatever, caused it”.

Upon additional investigation, we discovered the same video on the official account of dubseatv; a Seattle-based entertainment news channel. The video was uploaded on 10 September 2023 with a caption “2 women were viciously beat outside of Tower 12 Deli on 2nd Ave for allegedly throwing a rock at a man’s car”

Websites specialized in viral videos also collect the same recording indicating that it is from the city of Seattle. 

From these evidences we can clearly understand that this video is at least one month before the Hamas attack and do not depict current events from the Israel-Hamas conflict.
