Syrian singer Sariya al-Sawas has children with different husbands from multiple nationalities- what’s the truth

The claims that Syrian singer Sariya al-Sawas has children with men of various nationalities are false.

A post claiming Sariya al-Sawas, a Syrian singer, has children with different husbands from various nationalities has gone viral on social media. The post has an image of Sariya al-Sawas, standing alongside four children. It further states “Her eldest son is from her Emirati husband, the daughter on the right is from her Lebanese husband, the little boy is from her Yemeni husband, and the little girl is from her Saudi husband. She is currently pregnant by her Iraqi husband. Tribute to this lady who was able to achieve on her own what the League of Arab States could not achieve.

Fact Check- 

We began our investigation by performing a reverse image search on Google, and the results led us to Sariya al-Sawas’s official Facebook page. There we came across a post, dated 14 December 2019, through which she addressed the viral claim and provided clarification. In this post, she shared the same viral picture, but it shows only three children, suggesting that the fourth child shown in the viral image has been digitally added.

There are reports that the singer has posted an Instagram story, denying the rumours that she married three Arab nationals. Sharing the same viral photo of her with three children, she reiterated that the boy child is her nephew, whereas the two girl children are her daughters, and their father is Syrian.

In further search we found that Sariya al-Sawas had previously been in the spotlight for marrying Iraqi MP Talal Al-Zawawi. However, Talal Al-Zawawi refuted the reports as false and declared unequivocally that he had never met the artist.

Taking account of these evidences we can understand that the viral claim is false.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral image to be False. Through her social media pages, Sariya al-Sawas stated that the two girl children in the image are her two daughters, whose father is Syrian and the boy child is her nephew. She also refuted reports of her multiple marriages.
