Fact Check-

Looking at the video carefully, we observed that the video was originally from the London Olympics held in 2012. The logo of the Olympic association and London 2012 can be clearly seen in the background. Apart from this, it can also be seen in the points board that the match was between Malaysia and China.

Taking a clue from the above facts, we searched for the original match that was held in the London Olympics 2012. A relevant keyword search led us to the same match uploaded on Olympics official YouTube channel. According to the information, this was the final match of men’s badminton which was played between Lin Dan from China and Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia.

In the above video, you can see the viral clip from 21.06 minutes to 21.33 minutes. It can also be seen that the body movement of Lin Dan (Red jersey) is completely similar to the movement of the robot in the viral video. Below you can see the comparison between the viral video and the original video.

From the above facts, it is clear that the viral video was altered. The robot was added to the original video replacing a human player.

According to an NDTV report in 2012, the men’s single badminton final match of the London 2012 was played between Lin Dan of China and Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. Lin Dan defeated Lee Chong in the breathtaking match with 15-21, 21-10, 21-19. Lin Dan won his sixth olympics title.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found that the original video was altered and a human player was replaced by a robot using AI. In the viral video, the robot had the same body movements as that of the human player in the original video.
