This video does not show the Prince of Dubai celebrating the Independence Day of India with his Police.

The person featured in the video is not the Prince of Dubai. His name is Iqbal Hatboor, a social media influencer.

A video of people in Dubai celebrating India’s Independence Day has gone viral on social media with the claim that the Dubai prince along with Dubai police organised a celebration for India on 15 August. The video shows a man dressed in Arabic attire getting out of a car painted in UAE and Indian flags, following which some people dressed as policemen are seen stepping out from a Dubai Police car. They even celebrate by cutting a cake and waving the Indian flag.

The words written on the viral video is “A Tribute of Dubai Prince for our nation is an absolute glory to watch such an historic occasion”. The caption of the post states, “Dubai Prince and Dubai Police celebrating India Independence Day. Jai Bharat”

Fact Check- 

We started with a keyword search on the internet after seeing a watermark on the video that said “@Iqabl_hatboor,” which led us to a person with the same name’s social media profile. According to his Instagram bio, Iqbal is an Entrepreneur and Influencer. The viral video is featured on Iqbal’s Facebook page, which was uploaded on 15 August 2022. The post’s description reads, “Celebrating the 77th Indian Independence Day at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is a remarkable way to honor the occasion. Expressing gratitude to the UAE and Dubai Police for their support adds a special touch of appreciation to the event”. He also posted pictures from the celebrations which can be viewed here.

He shared the same video on his Instagram profile also on 18 August with the caption, “#77th Independence day #Dubai”

Malayalam news channel Mathrubhumi News also covered this event in which he was identified as a native of Kasargod.

We also found a post from 2019 which showed Hatboor with the actually crown prince of Dubai, Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

With all of this evidence, it is evident that the viral video misidentifies him as the prince of Dubai.  Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the crown prince of Dubai. You can see below an image of Prince.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral image to be False.  This video does not show the Prince of Dubai celebrating the Independence Day of India with his police. The person featured in the video is not the Prince of Dubai. His name is Iqbal Hatboor, a social media influencer.
