Is this video of a cow attacking a girl an incident from Faridabad? Know the truth.

A disturbing video of a small girl attacked by two cows is going viral on social media. It can be seen that a lady is walking in a lane along with a few small children. Suddenly, a couple of nearby cows started attacking a girl and trampled her. After a lot of intervention, few people were able to rescue the girl. 

It was claimed that this incident took place in Faridabad, Haryana. 

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be misleading. This incident is not from Haryana but from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. 

What’s the claim? 

Social media users are claiming that this incident of cows attacking a small girl is from Saidpur, Faridabad. The girl was severely injured in the incident and few people from the neighborhood rescued her.

Fact Check- 

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe of the viral video led us to the same video uploaded on Punjab Kesari – Madhya Pradesh/Chhattisgarh official Facebook page. It was mentioned that this incident is from Chennai when a small school girl was attacked by cows. Later, people had to intervene and rescue the girl. 

According to the Hindustan Times report, this incident took place in MMRDA Colony, Chennai. The girl was returning from school with her sibling and her mother. As they were crossing the cow and its calf, the cow suddenly attacked her and injured her severely. Some men tried to rescue the girl by throwing stones at the cow and scaring it. The owner of the cow was imposed a fine of 25,000 rupees by the authorities and the cow is under observation to ascertain if it is suffering from some kind of disease. Police also arrested the owner of the cow after a complaint was filed by victim’s mother. The girl is being treated in a hospital.
