The video of the launch of Chandrayaan 3 from flight-know the truth

This viral video does not depict the launch of Chandrayaan 3. This is a video of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch that took place in December last year.

Recently on July 14, India has launched Chandrayaan-3 . Adding to this, a video of the launch of Chandrayaan 3, filmed by a passenger from a Chennai-bound flight, has gone viral on social media. Caption states “An Indigo flight was flying from Chennai to Dhaka. Coincidentally, it was passing over SrihariKota at the time of launch of Chandrayan-3. The pilot announced that the passengers can be the witness to the historic event of Chandrayan-3 launch. A passenger at a window seat recorded a video on his mobile and it is the first ever amature video of a space craft from space”.

Fact check

We verified this video through Invid-V verify tool. We found this video shared on 15 December 2022 on an Instagram page named chefpinkpr . In it, he has told that this video was taken by the operator from this page when his plane passed over Cape Canaveral and during that time a rocket named SpaceX Falcon 9 was being launched. You can see that post below. 

Keeping this in mind, we did a keyword search on Google and found a report published on 16 February on NDTV website as well. 

The SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket was launched on 11 December 2022

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found that the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This viral video is not of Chandrayaan 3 launch. This is few months old video when the rocket called SpaceX Falcon 9 was launched.
