This video shows a 2019 incident from China and it has no link to Spain.

A disturbing video of a lady being brutally assaulted by a man on street is going viral on social media. The video shows a man punches the woman and then attacks her while trying to tear her clothes apart. The clip ends with the man dragging the woman out of the frame by her hair.

The users who share the video claims the man was a Muslim migrant and this incident happened in Spain. The caption reads “This video is hard to watch-

Muslim invader attacking a woman in Spain. Beaten senseless, raped & left for dead. Open borders policies are destroying our European peoples”.

Fact Check-

A simple reverse-image search on Google led us to a report published in 2019 that featured a screenshot from the video. According to it, this incident took place in Dalian, a city in China’s Liaoning province. Quoting the police, it noted that the video was shot past midnight on June 22, 2019.

Keeping this in mind, we conducted additional keyword searches, which brought us more information about the incident.  The victim was from Panjin in Liaoning and was on her way home when she was attacked. She reportedly According to reports the 29 year old lady suffered facial soft tissue damage and was discharged from hospital after treatment. The video was CCTV footage of the incident captured on Cangshan Road.

Further investigation revealed that the culprit was 31-year-old Wang Nan from Dalian. The man reportedly claimed to be agitated because of a relationship dispute with his girlfriend and was drunk when he attacked the woman. There were also images of him in the story. 

There are reports from last year that “A civil guard who posted a video on Twitter accusing migrant minors of an alleged assault in a Catalan town, which actually occurred in China, accepted a 15-month prison sentence in one of the first sentences for spreading false news against a group in Spain”.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False.
