Fact Check-

After having a close look at the video, we found that there are some shops whose names are written in the Marathi language. This makes us sure that there is no possibility of this video being from the state of Uttar Pradesh.

In the video, we also get to see an idol of Lord Ganesh, due to which we suspected that this video is not of Ram Navami but might be a video of Ganapati Visarjan.

So where is this video from Maharashtra?

A keyword search on YouTube led us to a video uploaded on 10 September 2022. You can see the scene of viral video from1-minute timestamp. The information along with the video says that this video is from Kolhapur, Maharashtra during the 2022 Ganapati Visarjan.

In the above video, we notice another shop ‘Shinde Rope Merchant’ written in Marathi.

We tried locating the shop on Google Maps. We found out that the same shop is located on Gangavesh Road, Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

On 11 September 2022, Navabharat Times reported that this is a video of Ganapati Visarjan in Kolhapur where police officers danced during the celebration. There was a 2-year ban on celebration of festivals due to COVID-19. After the COVID protocols were removed last year, everyone joined the Ganapati Visarjan.

According to an India Today report, after this incident, the Mumbai police imposed a strict rule that no policemen are allowed to dance in uniform in Maharashtra and action will be taken against those police officers who break the rules.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. An old video of Maharashtra police dancing on Ganapati Visarjan viral as a recent Ram Navami celebration in Jharkhand.
