Fact Check-

On searching Google with different keywords regarding the viral video, we found the longer version of this video along with a tweet by the mobile phone company Oppo India, in which the viral video has been posted.  In the video, Ranbir Kapoor can be seen gifting a new white smartphone to the boy, the boy is seen smiling and posing for photo. Later, the actor also clicks a selfie with the young boy. The whole act was a promotional campaign used to promote the new smartphone launched by the company – Oppo Reno8 T5G.

The tweet reads “Just in case you’ve missed it, #RanbirKapoor hands a fan an upgrade of a lifetime with the new #OPPOReno8T.The new OPPO RENO 8T strikes the perfect balance between immersive visuals & a relaxed grip for an all-round premium experience .

Releasing Feb 3rd. #AStepAbove”

Actually, this video is a promotional stunt. Actually, Ranbir has not thrown the mobile of any of his fans in anger, but it is a part of an ad. In further search we discovered the same video on Nainesh Karamchandani’s  Instagram account, confirming that the entire incident was staged. He played the role of a fan in the viral video. The caption reads “Hi guys, it’s me. He didn’t throw my phone. He’s a sweetheart”.

So we can clearly see that this was merely a promotional stunt by the actor for the upcoming Oppo Reno 8T smartphone, which is set to go official on February 3rd. For those who are unaware, Ranbir Kapoor has been an Oppo brand ambassador for some time and has previously been seen promoting the Oppo Reno smartphone.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the viral video of actor Ranbir Kapoor throwing a fan’s phone in a rage was staged for an advertisement of upcoming smartphone by Oppo, not the actual incident. Hence the post is Misleading.
