Is this the image of snake found in Air India Express flight?

The image dates back to 2016 when a venomous green snake spotted on board of AeroMexico flight. This image is not from Air India Express flight.

A snake was found in a Dubai-bound Air India Express flight on last Saturday. The Air India Express Boeing B-737 flight from Calicut airport, Kerala to Dubai took off on time, but after landing in Dubai, the crew discovered a snake on board the aircraft. Passengers were deplaned safely and the aircraft was fumigated properly before the next operation. The aviation regulatory body, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has ordered a detailed probe regarding the incident.

Amidst this, an image of a snake inside the flight is circulating on social media with the claim that it is from Air India Express. The caption of the image states, “Snake found in Air India Express plane, DGCA orders probe: http://aeropeep.com/snake-found-in-air-india-express.”

Fact Check-

We began our investigation by performing a Google reverse image search, which led us to the same image published on ABC7news on November 8, 2016 under the headline “Snake slithers out from overhead compartment on Mexico city”

 ABC7news

Based on that information, we searched the web for additional stories and pictures related to this. According to the report passengers on a commercial flight in Mexico were given a start when a serpent slithered into the cabin in a scene straight out of the Hollywood thriller “Snakes on a Plane.” The green reptile appeared suddenly on an Aeromexico flight from Torreon in the country’s north to Mexico City on Sunday, emerging from the ceiling behind an overhead luggage compartment. It has been reported that the flight had priority landing, passengers exited through the back door and the snake was dealt with by animal control.

Cell phone video shot by passenger Indalecio Medina showed it wriggling briefly as if trapped before partially dropping down into the cabin”

The video shows a poisonous five-foot-long green snake hanging from the lockers directly above terrified passengers on an AeroMexico flight from Torreon to Mexico City.

The passenger shared the same on Twitter with a caption “The flying snake… ha ha ha. A unique experience on the Torreón-Mexico Flight, Aeroméxico Flight 231. That if … Landing priority”

The same footage was found to have been published by various media on November 8, 2016 including ABC.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral image to be Misleading. The image dates back to 2016 when a venomous green snake spotted on board of AeroMexico flight. While a snake was discovered inside an Air India Express flight last week that was headed to Dubai from Kerala, but the viral image has nothing to do with the recent event.
