According to reports, a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids across West Bengal in connection with its probe into the state’s School Service Commission (SSC) teacher recruitment scam and recovered Rs 20 crore from the house of Arpita Mukherjee, a close associate of senior minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Partha Chatterjee, the agency arrested her. The ED had earlier arrested Chatterjee in connection with the case.

Later, the ED found another Rs 28 crore in cash, over 5 kg gold and several documents at the second apartment of Arpita Mukherjee.

Amidst this, a video showing a woman dancing with TMC MP Saugata Roy on the Bollywood tune “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast” is widely circulating on social media with the claim that the woman is Arpita Mukherjee.

The caption of the video states, “Arpita Mukherjee dancing with MP Sougata Roy.”

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a keyword search on Google and YouTube, which led us to the same video posted by Sangbad Protidin on 18 January 2019. The caption of the video states, “TMC’s Saugata Roy dances with Raveena Tandon.” The description of the video states, “TMC MP Saugata Roy shares stage and shakes leg with Raveena Tandon at Dum Dum food festival.”

The information makes it very clear that the woman dancing in the video is not Arpita Mukherjee but is Raveena Tandon.

According to Sangbad Protidin, this video was shot at the Dum Dum Food Fair named “Nale Jhole” in Daga Colony of Dum Dum every winter in West Bengal. Local legislator and Education minister Bratya Basu organized this fair. Every year Bollywood personalities are invited here as chief guests. Last year, actor Shilpa Shetty was the chief guest of the Dum Dum Food Mela. In 2019, Raveena Tandon was invited as the chief guest who performed on her own song “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast.”

We found that the current Education Minister of West Bengal, Bratya Basu had posted several images of this event on 17 January 2019. We can see Raveena Tandon in these images very clearly.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The video does not show Arpita Mukherjee dancing with TMC MP Saugata Roy. It dates back to 2019 showing Raveena Tandon dancing to her Bollywood song “Tu cheez badi hai mast mast” with TMC MP Saugata Roy.
