A video showing a couple singing “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie is widely circulating on social media claiming that the video is of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena Zelenska singing. Social media users further claim that they are not only singing for each other but also for the citizens of Ukraine.

The caption of the post reads, “President Zelensky With his wife Olena. This young couple recorded “Endless Love”, some years ago. He was a crooner before a comedian and commander-in-chief. During these tense and horrifying moments in the Ukraine, we can listen to Pres. Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena sing “Endless Love” not only for each other but for their beloved country, the Ukraine.”

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by running a keyword search on Google that led us to the same video published on YouTube by an American band named Boyce Avenue. The video was posted on 20 February 2022.

The caption of the video reads “Endless Love – Lionel Richie ft. Diana Ross (Boyce Avenue ft. Connie Talbot cover)”

The description of the video states “Boyce Avenue and Connie Talbot’s acoustic cover of “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie ft. Diana Ross (Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey and Shania Twain)”

According to the description of the band, Boyce Avenue is a Sarasota, Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots, which consists of the three brothers Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals), and Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals).

However, the video does not feature Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy or his wife. The video shows a band Boyce Avenue and features Manzano and Talbot performing a cover of “Endless Love.” 

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video on social media to be False. The video does not show Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena Zelenska singing “Endless Love”. The couple in the video are American singers, Alejandro Luis Manzano and Connie Talbot.
