Did 200 Delhi policemen resign from their jobs in support of the farmers?

The farmers organized a tractor rally in Delhi on Republic Day, which resulted in a lot of violence, due to which many pictures, videos and related news has been circulating on social media forums. During the violence in front of Red Fort many farmers and policemen were injured. Amidst this a post on social media is widely circulating claiming that 200 police personnel from Delhi Police have submitted their resignation in support of the ongoing farmer protest.

The caption of the post mentions that “To support the farmers in protest 200 Delhi policemen have resigned from their post #farmerprotest”

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by running a keyword search on Google to find relevant media reports about 200 policemen from the Delhi police submitting their resignation in support of the farmers protest. We were unable to find any relevant news report in this regard.

We also searched on the official Twitter handles of the Delhi police to find any relevant information.

Next, Fact Crescendo contacted the Additional PRO of Delhi Police, Anil Mittal who confirmed to us that the viral news is Fake. He said “the news claiming 200 Delhi Policemen resigning from their post in support of the farmers is completely untrue. None of the police personnel have resigned to support the farmers protest.We advise citizens to not believe in such false news.”

Conclusion- Fact Crescendo found the viral post to be False. The social media posts claiming 200 Delhi policemen resigning from their posts in support of the farmers is false and misleading.
